About Us

When 2020 rolled around and we were spending a lot more time at home, we evolved into full-fledged breakfast people. Specifically, we really developed a craving for breakfast sandwiches. At the time, we were able to get decent English muffins from Vermont Bread Co. But, when they went out of business, our options were suddenly…not good. Some were too bready, others didn’t toast up nicely. Mostly, they were just too flat. So, with an abundance of time on our hands, we started experimenting!

Into the test kitchen!

Not having any previous English muffin experience, Eric started out by testing out several online recipes. By trying different techniques and ingredients, combined with a vision for a nice, fluffy English muffin, he ultimately came up with Birch Hill English Muffins (or as we lovingly call them, sh’muffins). With a few flavors to start, we headed to the Jericho Farmer’s market to introduce them to our community!

Fast Forward to todaY

While we’re still baking out of our home-based bakery, that doesn’t stop us from cranking out plenty of the nice, fluffy goodness! We love being a part of Vermont’s vibrant food scene, so our focus remains on a high quality product and a commitment to local partnerships, both with suppliers and customers.
